How Sessions Work: Your Guide to the Takeahikephotography Experience
Every step is designed for dog lovers who want personality, not just poses. Whether you’re in Park City, Salt Lake City, or anywhere a leash can reach, this is your no-surprises playbook.
What is a typical Takeahikephotography session like?
Expect a relaxed, judgment-free atmosphere where chaos is welcome. Sessions are built around your dog’s personality and energy. We chase those wiggles, capture the goofiness, and celebrate every muddy paw print. No stiff posing required.
How long will my dog’s photo session take?
There’s no timer here. We work at your dog’s pace, whether that means ten minutes of zoomies or a full afternoon in the Utah mountains. Our no time limit policy means you never have to stress about your dog’s mood or energy.
What if my dog is hyper, shy, or just plain wild?
Perfect. High-energy, anxious, or untrained dogs are what we love most. There’s no pressure to behave. The best photos come from letting your dog be their messy, silly self. Leashes are always welcome and edited out later for safety.
Where do sessions happen? Can we choose locations?
You pick the vibe: Utah mountain trails, Bonneville Salt Flats, your backyard, or our Park City studio. We help scout locations based on your pup’s needs and the best light. Service covers Summit County and Salt Lake City, with pop-up options for the whole area.
What do I need to bring to the session?
Bring your dog, a favorite toy or treat, and anything that makes your pet happy. For outdoor sessions, grab water and maybe a towel. We provide the rest: props, treats, and plenty of patience for those salty, slobbery moments.
How does leash removal work for active dogs?
Safety comes first. Dogs stay on leash during the session, especially in wild Utah spots. Our expert editing removes leashes from the final photos, so you get adventurous portraits without risking your dog’s safety.
What happens after the session? When will I see the photos?
Within 1 to 2 weeks, you’ll get a gallery of hand-edited images full of personality. You’ll also pick your favorite shots for wall art. We partner with top labs for Metals, Acrylics, and Fine Art prints, hand-delivered across Park City, Salt Lake City, and Summit County.
What if the weather is bad or my dog has an off day?
Utah weather can be wild. If it’s pouring or your dog just isn’t feeling it, we reschedule at no extra charge. Our flexible approach means you always get the best out of your dog’s session, rain or shine.
